Jaroslav and Lidmila

I always photograph my Grandparents in their flat in Czech Republic. Taking a Nikon FM2 with a 35mm lens and 12 rolls of Kentmere Black and White ISO 400 film which I developed when I got back to university.

I go to Czech Republic with the intention that I want to convey my grandparents' relationship with each other within their domestic space. They have been married for 55 years and lived in their flat for 51. I have been visiting my family my entire life and their relationship is one that I have admired since I was little. Jaroslav and Lidmila have been together for so long and lived with each other in a close proximity. Yes, they may have their ups and downs, but they are always there for each other, they always make each other smile and have sacrificed so much for the best of their children. They work as a team in the kitchen and in life. 

I have also created two book using my images and archival images that my Grandad took when he was my age.
